Today celebrates the combination of a few but classic ingredients – a scoop of ice cream, some flavored syrup and carbonated water, (a.k.a. the Ice Cream Soda.)
The basic recipe can be adapted for many variations but make sure you use them in the following order or it will end up going flat!
Here’s a recipe for a classic soda fountain favorite:
Black And White Ice Cream Soda
French Vanilla Ice Cream
Add two tablespoons of chocolate syrup to a tall soda glass. Add seltzer water up to two inches from the rim. Carefully add one large scoop of the ice cream to the glass, easing the ice cream into the seltzer water. Top with whipped cream and a cherry. Add two straws and enjoy with a friend!
